The final stop on our grand trek is widely regarded as one of the greatest natural wonders in the world. We have been witness to plenty of great stuff so Kakadu will have to be good.
After setting up tent and having a swim in the resort pool we set off for a sunset walk at Nourlangie Rock - a rugged outcrop that is home to some extraordinary (and for the cynical ones - a bit dubious) aboriginal art and which doubles as a wonderful lookout over the Arnhem Land escarpment.
On the way back we 'popped in' to check out the view from the Nawurlandja lookout and what a view it was. It was dark and cold when we got back for a late dinner.

Day 2 involved a late start after Tess' first experiment with cooking pancakes (and David getting jump started again with a flat battery). Back on the badly currogated dirt to Twin Falls which has only just been opened up after the wet season. We had to cross Jim Jim Creek with a water level of over 700mm - lucky I got a snorkel on the car - shame the door seals are useless and the car is now full of creek water! Even despite the fact I taped the doors with Duct tape!!!!
The Twin Falls were fantastic. Unfortunately we could not swim in the tantalising water because of crocodiles.

Next stop Jim Jim Falls (and more water in the car on the way back) and again spectacular.
